Safeguarding Policy
Published policy — external safeguarding/legal review pending
1. Our Commitment to Safeguarding
EverRhythm aims to design and operate its services with appropriate safeguards for users who may be at risk. This policy describes the safeguarding principles and current product approach; it does not imply that EverRhythm is an emergency service, healthcare provider or statutory safeguarding authority.
2. Safeguarding Principles
Our approach to safeguarding is built on the following principles:
- Empowerment: We provide users with tools and information to manage their health. Any safeguarding action by EverRhythm must have an appropriate operational role, authority and lawful basis for the relevant service.
- Prevention: We design our features to minimize risks and provide resources to help users stay safe.
- Proportionality: Our interventions are carefully considered to be the least intrusive necessary to address a specific risk.
- Protection: Safeguarding features and escalation paths must be evidence-backed, proportionate and appropriate to the particular service.
- Partnership: Where a service supports authorised caregivers, organisations or professional services, any information sharing remains subject to the relevant authority, privacy and safeguarding rules.
- Accountability: We are transparent about our safeguarding procedures and are accountable for our actions.
3. Crisis Detection and Intervention
EverRhythm is not a crisis or emergency service. Some features may surface safety resources or identify information that could indicate a concern, but users must not rely on automated features to detect every emergency or safeguarding risk.
Depending on the feature, configuration, legal authority and facts, a response may include:
- Displaying in-app resources with contact information for professional crisis support services.
- Using a user-configured support or emergency-contact feature where that feature is actually enabled and the relevant authority and safeguards permit it.
- Considering escalation to an appropriate service where the circumstances and applicable law provide a lawful and operational basis to do so. This wording does not promise that EverRhythm can identify, locate or contact emergency services for a user.
4. Protecting Vulnerable Users
Some users may require additional protections because of age, disability, health, circumstances or the context in which a service is used. EverRhythm's age-governance position is being formally reconciled. We do not infer that a person is an adult merely because date-of-birth information is absent, and any child-facing or age-sensitive journey must apply the relevant age, transparency, authorisation and safeguarding controls before launch.
5. Reporting a Safeguarding Concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about a user or content on our platform, you can report it at safeguarding@everrhythm.health. The operational ownership, monitoring and response arrangements for this channel must remain aligned with the service's approved safeguarding procedure.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services first.
6. Compliance and Standards
Safeguarding duties vary by service, user group, deployment and jurisdiction. EverRhythm therefore assesses the applicable obligations and evidence for each relevant service rather than claiming generic healthcare or safeguarding compliance from this policy alone.
7. Policy Management and Review
EverRhythm is consolidating safeguarding governance so that published commitments remain traceable to implemented procedures, accountable owners and evidence.
The governed model requires:
- Review: Review on a governed cadence and when material product, population, legal or risk changes occur.
- Competence: Obtain appropriate safeguarding, clinical or legal input where the service and risk require it.
- Version Control: Preserve approved versions and material change history.
- Training: Define and evidence role-appropriate training before claiming a training programme is operational.
- Learning: Use substantiated incident and exercise evidence to improve controls without presenting sample or test records as real incidents.
